12db/oct vcf, based around the transistor filter by L.E.P. that you can find online, but with the double gang pot for cutoff replaced with a couple of transistors arranged as some crude variable resistors (idea taken from gakken sx-150's filter).
It works well in real life too, it can auto oscillate
