I built this for launching rockets with KNSB rocket motors. Igniters are 3.3R 1/2W resistors inserted into a small bead of propellant, launcher is powered by a 12VDC 8Ah lawnmower battery. To use, insert an igniter fully into the motor and connect the leads. Flip the SPST switch for power, the green LED illuminates. Flip the lockout SPST switch to arm and perform a continuity check, the yellow LED illuminates if connection is good. Press the fire momentary to trigger the 5sec pulse, the red LED illuminates. This runs ~4A through the 1/2W resistor, burning it up almost instantly and igniting the motor. This is a very reliable and highly mobile ignition system with generous run time between charging.

Starting the simulation with the power switch off will cause instability, this is a simulation artifact and does not happen in reality.
