Personally, I’m not a fan of the way GenAI is being used by companies, what with shoehorning it into everything possible. Nor do I like how it’s being utilized by consumers. Nor do I like how it gathers data, and what the prompting user does with it (i.e. labeling it as their original design, idea, etc). Now, I’m not denying the usefulness of GenAI, or that I myself have never used it for the aforementioned reasons, but I just don’t like the direction AI is heading

Not to mention the increase in carbon emissions and water consumption required for the data centers AI companies are using. I myself seldom use AI, and when I do, it’s only to fact check MY HANDWRITTEN code, not to ask it something that can be easily solved by a simple Google search (factoring out GoogleAI and Gemini), not to generate a deepfake of a politician I don’t like the motives of, or even to generate code from only English sentences.
