Why does a voltage source alway randomly become shorted out?

You cant and shouldnt use parallel voltage sources, theres no reason to do that

The reason for the short is that the voltage sources in the simulation are ideal and have no resistance. Thus the voltage sources short current through each other.

@Teshaxd, I believe that there are some reasons why voltage sources could be connected in parallel. One reason is to increase the current capacity of Li-Po batteries. However, you are correct that this is usually a bad (and possibly dangerous) idea as the batteries must be matched and charged to the same amount. Extra circuitry is required to make it safer.

EC voltage sources are ‘perfect’ in that they have no output resistance which a real voltage source would have - for example, the internal resistance of a battery. To overcome this you can add a very small resistance in series with the source, perhaps 0.1 Ohm.
