SSTC Driver

It needs a few more adjustments. If built in real life the push pull system would be replaced by MOSFET drivers and other various components would be added. This isn't a very powerful one, but it's something. Any suggestions on enhancements would be appreciated ^_^ just don't be a dick about it.

There is no good reason to remove the BJT push pull stage. You seems to love mosfets, but you do not know its limits? See e.g. the max gate source voltage and don't forget the gate capacity.

you should use a feedback system for this because it founds by itself the resonant frequency

It's hard for me to try and make a MOSFET that matches one in real life in every circuit. Nikisalli I'm aware of the feedback oscillation system, I'm just using the 555 so that I can change the frequency easier.

Shit thanks for the heads up Hurz, I just looked at the data sheet for IRF250N

Much better this time , just take care at the gate of the MOSFETs 😉

Is there anything you guys would recommend to fist the MOSFET Gate source voltage?

use a 12-14-18 or 20v zener diode with the chatode to the gate of the mosfets and the anode to the source of the mosfets so the voltage will always be clamped to the voltage of the zener diode

I clamped it, but It's giving me terrible voltage spikes at the gate
nikisalli

you didn't clamped it

you have to put zener diodes as i said

I mean I did but didn't save xD sorry I thought I had

There we go

the gdt should be 5:5 because at 5:10 with 12v and inductive spikes the zener diode can be inefficient

and i just noticed the 555 used as not gate, really clever

Thanks, But the credit goes to WTFCircuit, he suggested the Idea

Here I set it up similar to one of the ones WTFCircuit made

irf250 has about 3nF across DG and GS so you need to drive it stupid hard to stay out of linear. the inductance of the primary coil makes a nasty series LC on the drain and gate which will make the gate flap around, bringing the DS into ohmic conduction. I drive my old 250s up to 16kHz with max 3Ω.

irf250s are really really old now. I would use them if i get a dozen for free; if I had to buy them there's probably much better ones available now.

I'm too lazy to buy a new one. But I'll get around to it
