You could use a NIC to create this waveform in reality. The sign of my Y-axis is flipped and it's a V-I graph but other than that it's basically the same. Since the graph has a negative slope in some regions, it has the characteristics of a negative resistor in this operating region: https://everycircuit.com/circuit/4563777795915776
