Heavily dependent on simulation speed, becomes unstable at slower (more accurate) sim speeds. Measuring current through the LED at 80ms/s, peaks vary between 20mA and 40mA, but at random intervals a peak of 50, 60, or occasionally even 100mA will occur. While a real LED may withstand these brief spikes, I'm sure it will appear to flicker, and there's worse news. These current spikes correspond with emitter voltage spikes. These spikes commonly exceed 100V and may exceed 500V. I saw a spike greater than 600V once.

There are also gaps, 3 or 4 missing pulses in a row. These show up more at 200ms/s.
