Use push buttons to simulate a ground or 12volt  incoming signal, the green led  will indicate a ground or "negative"  signal and and red led will indicate a 12 volt or "positive" signal.

The two white leds are used as a work light if mounted in a specific spot or can simply be used as a powered on light.

The 12v power supply in the circuit is simulating a car/trucks battery, this connection cpuld be made via alligator clips or a 12v lighter socket plug or even both 👍👍for different scenarios.
