Audio out would work with regular cell telephone plugs but no microphone was detected.

After YouTube and Google re-install the driver ideas failed.

   My Intel Customer Support reply to detecting microphone woes on Windows 10 computer was different connections on 3.5 mm. TRRS Headset.  See page 24 of:

The 3.5 mm. TRRS  connections from Lamp (or tip, is left side audio) next switch (plug ring, is right side audio, next switch (plug ring is ground connection) and right most switch. is sleeve, or audio in). 

Lesson, if the headset cable connect fits the wiring may be connected differently on the headset.
