Superposition part 1 This is a complex number problem with: bottom left supply = 3+j4 (arrow pointing up) z1 (left branch) = 3+j3 (+ = Inductor) z3 (middle branch) = 4+j2 z2 (right branch) = 5-j8 (- = capacitor) Top right supply = 8+j0 (arrow pointing down) **THIS SUPPLY IS OMITTED FOR FIRST RUN** full circuit is shown in part 3 if you're confused. the relevant resistor and capacitor values were found using L=2*pi*F*XL and C=1/2*pi*F*Xc. e.g. 5-j8 = 5 ohm resistor in series with a (1/2*pi*1000hz*8= 19.89x10-6) 19.9uF Capacitor as shown on right (green) branch. to work out rms currents: max x 0.707 e.g. max 386mA x 0.707 = 273mA for Green. Give the circuit a minute to run until min and max values are the same.
