Compensating crossover distortion on Class AB amplifiers the right way.

By using diodes and current mirrors, crossover distortion can be compensated on Class AB amplifiers without compromising performance. However, care must be taken when assembling, as all semiconductor components must be in thermal contact to avoid potential failure, like thermal latch-up, due to parameter mismatch. It's important that diode bias voltage equals the base-emmiter junction bias voltage of the output transistors.

This is simply not necessary. You only need two diodes

The diode-resistor variant lacks reliability and will fail IRL, current mirrors ensure the current through the diodes is constant.

You'd be better off with a current feeder class AB, one pair of diodes and some negative feedback
