This has got to be a BUG

This circuit runs differently depending on the electrical orientation of the bulb. Here, the phase flips after about 5-10 seconds, including EXISTING lines on the scope. Rotate the bulb 180 degrees electrically, and the phase behaves as expected. I ran into this in the very first circuit I did. Grrrrr.

Arrow and graph does flip at the same point in time. -1 * -1 = 1. So nothing wrong here.

That is crazy, the bulb should show direction on symbol because of this, but don't hold your breath until it gets fixed I think this app is in the realm of abandon ware now. But thanks for pointing it out now I know what to look for if it happens to me

Yep, nothing wrong here if you don't mind the current flipping direction and bulb being 180° out of phase with input

Better flipping not be abandoned after I ended up paying for it... Was only a couple bucks but I love this program. I'm a relative newb to electronics but this graphical interface makes understanding what is happening and more importantly, WHEN it happens, across the entire project... Has been an invaluable tool for me to learn how make simple electronic devices and actually see how they work, without spending a bunch of money on components... Even more on fried components and solder. I'm disabled, short on cash and hard up to learn this stuff! Books are great but I'd rather spend the money on components than on books lol. That's what the internet is for! Can anyone get the code from the guy and carry on? Or can you guys lead me to a better low priced graphical-based electronics building & "making" sim like this? Which is most popular with best built in help and support? Leas coat is better for me. I don't mind paying for a good product but I'd like to try it first. I appreciate anybody who could help me out in this respect.

@ilive4fun, with most bugs here there are work arounds so I suggest sticking with the app even if another version never comes out, I use Proteus on PC but it is very expensive software and not without bugs either, most notable with microcontrollers. This is really the only good option if you want to learn quick and cheap but also have to keep in mind all the limitations some cases you cannot just grab a circuit plug it in here and expect it to work. Most my work is done with Proteus but I like the freedom this app has for quick small projects or building subcircuits. In any event good luck and don't give up learning this app because of what I said, there is no such thing as a perfect app and abandoned or not it still is worth the few dollars.

Is it considering the inductive effect caused by bulb

@Ajinkya_Mahajan It could only be the inductive effect if bulbs are polarized. Bulbs in the default position dont do this, all bulbs reversed do. Even parallel, only rotated (electrically) bulbs will phase flip. And it shouldn't flip existing lines on the scope, should it? It time-travels back and changes a pre existing waveform.

Well, the actual behaviour of the bulb doesn't change, just the way that it's being represented. If you notice, there's little arrow next to the bulb, indicating the direction of current flow. The graphical readings are relative to this direction. When the readings on the graph flip, the arrow also changes direction. So basically, the exact same current is being measured, just in the opposite direction. I don't how the program decides which direction to measure from, but it seems to have a preference, and if you set it up contrary to that preference, it eventually switches back. I don't know if I would call it a bug, technically speaking, but I can see how it would be annoying.

@mtobot, right! @ilive4fun, there is no better app on the market and if you prefer mobile phone apps, then there is no better PC version for you. I recommand to stay here and work a while with this app. I dont know a better one than this for a beginner. Only be careful about the community, there are many users how try to give you nice explanations but post bullshit circuits. So start with simple low component count circuits and check if its description fits!!! This is a good way to learn. The effect you mentioned is definetly not a bug. Its for you only a little irritating. My 2cents.

@hurz, maybe you should post a video of you proving this theory, educate us all by showing in real life that there is a 180° phase shift from input to bulb just by switching bulb direction then we can all admit this is NOT a bug

And don't get the tiny peepee Napoleon complex answering a question with a question because someone does not agree with your highness, you're always right everyone is always wrong bullshit, just post real substantial proof and because this is NOT a polarized bulb do not even consider that as an argument, or admit you are wrong I will not accept any other response.

I have been playing around with this circuit and now when it flips both wave forms flip together.

If you monitor the wave form at the source it is in phase, but it still flips.

Checker, check this out again for you. I just said there is from 'electric' point of view nothing changing! Its only the representation on circuit (little arrow which flips) AND the graph flips the y axsis at the same time. So both things do a uturn. Or in a formula -1 * -1 = 1. No bug, right checker? If not, try to bring some facts.

Nice idea, interessting the arrow does not change for the second bulb. This proves what I said. Thanx jrepine.
