I used so many logic gates because I was accounting for more than 6 states from the counter but there is so much lag it'll make it a whole lot slower. It originally was supposed to go through each letter and then glow all at once on the 7th state and maybe another on the 8th state but I set it to reset on the 7th state instead.

Yeah I can't stand this stupid update, he screwed it up so we can no longer speed up stimulation to real time, probably based on how many added components.

Just connect the pins of the displays together that you want to display the letters, then hook them up to a 5 vdc power supply. If you want it to scroll however just remove the 555 timer and all its components and use a logic train. I've noticed 555s slow down the sim.

I used a logic train thx. Did speed it up somewhat. I can create another one with less logic gates i don't know if itll help

Also remove the 5 vdc supply and the inverter and diode that connect to the reset. You already have the and gate tied to the reset, that's all you need. That should also help speed it up some.
