I would like to make the oscillation a little slower when the button is held down. Suggestions?

Try a bigger capacitor. 200 - 470uf.

Slide the oscilloscope time scale to obtain 1s realtime flashing view (ie flashes per second). At the moment, you have it currently set to 5sec which means it shows the flashing speeded up from normal to 5 times faster.

How can I get a momentary ground source from this when button gets pushed?

I've increased the cap to 300uf to give the switch about a half second to power off the circuit.
