https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7uZfxdTlQXRQmZJeTh5QTl0d1U/edit?usp=docslist_api 1v in ac source in the oscilloscope should show 1.41 vp 1Vrms should be seen as the blue signal oscilloscope Special thanks to @ jose1979 for explaining the error in the oscilloscope

How you figure that?

vrms is the effective voltage and produces the same thermal and intensity effects on both ac and dc 1 v produces the same intensity. but on an oscilloscope in ac should be a peak value of 1.41. vrms = vpp x 0.707

but in settings of Vgenerator its written clearly an "amplitude" not a rms-voltage or similar. when u look into disctionary at word amplitude means u see that this word should be used for maximum point during cycle period not for rms value so no bug is present ..SIC!

if you you select 1 v in ac. the oscilloscope really shows 1,41v

1V amplitude is 2V peak to peak and 0.7V RMS. the bug is you

i read the title well and scope shows amplitude of the signal as it is stated in vc generator options to not create mess.

Your calculation in the comment is incorrect. Vrms = 0.707 x Vpeak or Vrms = 0.3535 x Vpp. The article you referred to is incorrect. Please check your source with at least 2 others to ensure they all match. There is no bug, you were simply misled by that article.

anyway u can write to program creator whose create program code for this scope and it will confirm a well known fact that he code this scope to shows voltages in a way as the naming for tweaking such exist in options. if its named amplitude it shows an ac wave amplitude

thanks, I guess you will see this. i do not know

Kiko is partially correct. Typically, voltage values are given as RMS. Ideally stated, the 1 volt source (AC) should display on the o'scope as 2.828 volts peak-to-peak. RMS, you will not see on an oscilloscope. It is a calculated value. However... The amplitude displayed in EC is whatever the author programs them to be. A given AC voltage value is typically .707 x (0 to peak) voltage. The RMS value. For instance in the U.S. a 120 volt AC outlet is, in actuality, 339.36 volts. (Peak to peak that is.) That P-P voltage is actually there. Grab & use your handy Tec scope if you disbelieve. Ideally, the AC generator (sine) should display as 2.828 volts p-p on the scope feature. But, as I said, the author dictates this value based upon his educated beliefs and should not (necessarily) be taken as gospel.
