That's going kind of fast there. Somewhere between 0.5Hz and 5Hz usually looks pretty good with these. I'd probably go about 1Hz, personally. The formula for determining your components is: 0.72/(RC). Divide 0.72 by the result of multiplying your resistor value (in Ohms) by the capacitor value (in Farads). For something near 1Hz, try 10K resistors and 68µF caps.

Careful with those kudos @rk- this circuit bears a striking similarity to one I published months ago. I try never to speak in absolutes so I have to say it's not impossible for two people to come up with the same design- especially for a popular circuit. But, how many times have you seen a six segment astable posted? I check in here damn near every day and I've waited for others to catch on to what I was doing with these. Besides the ones I've posted I haven't seen another until now. Look- it sure is tidy isn't it...

I designed this circuit through my experience by itself, it is possible that there are similar circuits, if not the same. But here I am alone have guessed. And thanks for the praise. Ps I'm not a profi that matter.

I don't know man, I think it's quite a stretch to call this blatant plagiarism. These circuits are all over the place. I've seen them called dancing LED circuits, running LED circuits, and most commonly it's shown as a means to create a "Knight Rider effect" using discrete components. Also, I kind of thought it was common knowledge asking people who knew just about anything these circuits that an even number will alternate, and an odd number will dance about. Usually, you see 4 or 5 segments, but I don't see why choosing 6 would suddenly make this plagiarism. This circuit isn't exactly anything new.

Hey. It can not be new, the circuit it is also clear. I do this just for fun and I'm no expert, but I am satisfied with this circuit. .

Whoah, easy there council- I got nowhere close to saying it was plagiarism! I mean, his battery is on the opposite side of the circuit so of course it's not. And I too have looked through a shit-ton of blinkies on the net but so far have only come across one example of thr segmented astable from which I based most of my posted blinkies. Again, i'm not saying that's the only example in existence. I want to say too that even if one of my designs was copied, I wouldn't be mad about it because like they say: imitation is the greatest form of flattery. But i'm not the type of guy to say nothing while someone basks in the accolades of his peers and takes credit for work done by another man's hands. Wouldn't matter if it was mine or yours or anyone else's- if I notice it, I'll call them out on it. @rk- you mentioned that my observation was "quite a stretch", before you solidify that opinion I would have you do two things: 1- Check his page. I did and most prominently noticed that not a single one of his other posted circuits was even remotely as well layed out as this one in question is. then 2: check my page. I won't even have to tell you the name of circuit- believe me, you'll spot it...

I'm no judge or jury. I saw your circuit, and I see your point(s). This circuit was, indeed, a marked improvement. Thus my kudos. As to where the improvement came from, I'll stay out of that.

Alright then. In the brief time of our interaction here, I've known you to be quite reasonable and astute. So I was sure that if you took a look, then you would see it too. Honestly I don't care if this kid copied it or not- but I did need to hear validation of what I was seeing. I don't run around crying wolf, so I looked very closely at it all before I said word one. Anyway, what's done is done- let's move on then shall we?..
