Wheatstone Bridge used to calculate an unknown resistance using a differential measurement. 

In this example, the bottom right resister is "unknown". use the Potentiometer in the bottom left position as a "variable resistor". vary the resistance until the volt meter in the middle measures 0v to find the value of the unknown resistor.
