A sine wave generator generates an oscillating frequency in a sinusoidal pattern. A sinusoid function resembles peaks and troughs in a consistent, smooth, rolling pattern. Sine wave tools are typically used for measuring either sound or electric frequency, both of which take on a sine pattern.

@lenzrulz So I'm trying to enjoy your post. I've got a few questions tho. Your description doesn't tell me anything about your circuit. The first sentence tells me that "A sine wave generator generates [a sine wave]...". Pretty self explanatory I'd say. Then you observe the function in a way a three year old could do. The last sentence is such a bold statement, that it is not worth talking about (if you really want to we could debate it tho). I went ahead and took a look at your circuit then. A 6GHz sine wave source, two 50 Ohm resistors and two LED's. Well now I have a ton of questions. Why a frequency as high as 6 GHz? Are the 50 Ohms transmission line impedances or source impedance (if they are transmission line impedances I'd be worth noting that they are reactive right?). And where is the other impedance? Do you have an ideal source/ transmission line? What is the purpose of 6GHz LEDs? Do they even exist? Just from that, I figured it couldn't be a real circuit. More like an ideal concept. What is that concept for? Did you learn something new lately and now you are looking for confirmation? (I doubt it, because it's a repost). Or are you trying to create an educational post, for other people to understand? Thank you in advance for answering my questions.

@ViolationMad, great questions which I can’t answer as there are far too many variables which need to be factored into the discussion which is extremely tedious and time consuming. This circuit should be taken on face value in that it’s a simple simulation of sine wave generation and nothing else.

to keep Lenny running. Im not Lennys mumy and actually i did at the beginning five years ago and even tried to help Lenny. Then i got back to help newbies. Later on i decided its better to not help him, cuz beside his charalatan being hes also a bastard. Credit is a word he never learned.
