If suspect resistor seems open circuit we can "bridge" value in with same value with clip connections not having to bend leads and try to hold component for good contact.   Also, simplify experimenting.

Use ohm meter and jumper wires to connect desired range of resistance to our mounted variable resistors with connection pins.

The top two variable resistors are wire wound and rated for 4 watts.  Lower three carbon variable resistors.
