Accidentally made this oscillator, not sure if it would work in real life, but here’s how it should work:
The positive voltage opens up the gate of the mosfet and allows negative voltage to start charging up the capacitor. The positive voltage gets pulled away from the gate of the mosfet and charged up the capacitor on the other side. This turns the mosfet off, which stops the capacitor from being charged. The capacitor continues to get charged up until it reached the breakdown voltage of the zener diode, discharging it and making the voltage across it neutral Now that the capacitor has discharged and stopped pulling the voltage away from the MOSFET, the positive voltage can open up the gate of the MOSFET, and the cycle repeats.
Not sure if it’s working correctly in the simulation because it’s acting kind of weird, but hopefully it works the way I designed it to work in real life.
The waveform on the capacitor is pretty interesting.
Do you think this would work in real life?
