A simplified demo of YouTuber, Jenko022's excellent transistor demonstration https://youtu.be/LBMXPvOFSkI.  I have simplified it to try and show the difference in how the Bases are biased.  It made it much more clear for myself.

Can anyone explain to me why both transistors leak in the 'Off' state? I assume that I have not met the proper criteria for the transistor to be used as an off/on switch...? In simple terms, please, I'm just learning ;)

It just looks like a constant leak, but actually its a dynamic charge discharge effect of the LED parasitic capasitance. Tune the simspeed to 1s/s and you will see how quickly this current disappears. Hope this helps.
