The 1B86 Geiger - Muller tube (upper left) seems better known on the Internet as 1B85.  The 300 volt battery can give a nasty "bite" if you get yourself in the circuit.  The 1K ohm resistor is where your sensitive high impedance headphones (maybe amplified) plug in.  Unplug headphones for ON/OFF switch.  The 22 ms wave is to simulate 40 to 60 times per minute normal range  background "clicks".    Increased click rate indicates radioactivity.   Test rig with luminous watch or luminous alarm clock face to make sure it is working.
