Poor inverters. Connecting two outputs directly isn't a good idea (except with open collector or tri-stateable outputs, but these inverters are neither). Reason: with one output high, another low, those two different voltage potentials are shortcircuited.

The NOT gate acts like a diode but I put a diode so it won't " short circuit ".
