This circuit is derived from an old Forrest Mimms schematic for a dark sensor. Just change the Potentiometer for an LDR of the appropriate value and you’ll have a fairly crude dark sensor/night light. As with all Mimms circuits there is never much of an explanation, this one initially had the timing Cap in the wrong orientation which kept blowing it, also neerly all the values have had to be changed in order for it to operate somewhere near correctly. Changing the value of the Capacitor will alter the speed, the potentiometer turns it on and off.. Have fun ;-)
