I've made a Simple Relay Circuit. The threshold voltage is 249V and as soon as supply voltage is increased beyond 249V, it will trigger the trip and disconnrct the load from supply, The LEDs shows the status of the load voltage, Green is below 249V and safe, red is 250V or above or Unsafe, The base voltage is set at 200V, go ahead and increase it till 249V, the red led switches on and the circuit is opened, to restore it to normal operation, decrease the voltage below 250V and press the push on switch to reset (the circuit is not perfect, there are some flaws and I'm happy if you find and help me correct it)

Your basic idea is good. If you are going to protect against an over Voltage, you should also consider protection against an under Voltage also. In a circuit like this, start at the end. Place the circuit load right at the right-hand bottom corner. That's the load. Above it, place the relay, that's the distribution, the load does not get power until the relay pulls in. Then work on the rest of your circuit, the mains, the transformer, the raw power to be monitored, the power for the monitoring, indication and switching circuit, the regulated power for this circuit, the battery backup & it's charger. Then the monitoring, indicating and control circuits that all this power feeds. I hope that I have given you a few ideas to work on.

@BillyT, that's a very comprehensive advice you have provided. Im a newbie to power system and im learning new things every day, and i will work taking your advice and hope to make a better protection system, thanks! 🤘
