Simple circuit to drive an led (4v 5ma) from mains 230vac 50hz. Adjust capacitor size (via xc) acording to the mains voltage, frequency, and led nominal current.

Im affraid you both are going into the wrong direction. The idea behind capacitor ac adaptors is a totaly different one.
