How to Make EC Freeze Instantly

Normally it would work, but apparently the ultra-high-speed 555 timer oscillator doesn’t get along well with a load, or at least this load.

It probably would appreciate a few current limiting resistors.

The 68 ohm resistor already limits the current to 20-30mA. The simulation just can’t handle the craziness of why this circuit even exists since this is obviously not something someone would build in real life and doesn’t simulate it. Either that or this simulator has a bug or two that needs to be patched. Such as the 555 timer. It’s so buggy it might just be a bug itself. Did you know that the first glitch ever was created by a moth getting trapped in a relay of a relay computer? That’s where the term “bug” comes from.

Hmm, now go fetch me a rubber hammer. I’ve got to bend some glass.

Here's a rubber hammer for that circuit...till a moth gets in. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6344903654375424

It still can’t handle it at 1s/s even with the 5pF capacitance of the diode being the only path to ground.

Read the specifications for the 555, they recommend at least 1k on the signal inputs ...
