На транзисторе собран генератор (стабилизатор) тока с довольно неплохими параметрами. В реале использован белый SMD-светодиод, он слегка светится. Величина тока стабилизации задается истоковым резистором.

It's too much. On the characteristics of the device is not affected, but the efficiency decreases.

Okay just change the gate resistor down to in value, 100ohms gives maximum lamp current/brightness. If the amount of led current is too much,change it out with a 10,000ohm resistor.

Change the push switch for a toggle switch.
