Use to test a 24 VDC proximity sensor to determine if it is a PNP or an NPN type

The idea is to take the return signal from the sensor (+ or -) depending on PNP or NPN type sensor, and to illuminate the proper indicator
Use the toggle switch to change signal polarity and the push button switch to simulate no signal (nothing detected)
