@wyoelk, the 555 time's output is an open emitter type output and not a push-pull output, meaning the 555 can not sink current. The EveryCircuit model of the 555 timer is incorrect.

My point was the configuration of the post is very confusing with three non attached circuits

every circuit practically is working.. just test it live..!!!

1st circuit the power source is not grounded and the potentiometer is not connected fully.

Thank you for correcting the power source. And yes, all three terminals of a potentiometer do not have to be connected. Not all pots go to zero ohms is why they are generally connected.
