Hi. You need to put a resistor before the light, if you don't do that, the transistor will crash.

@Jose the light is the resistors, the average wattage thru it is only about 22mW, I would agree that if the light was rated at 12V & power supply was also 12V it would be better, (only drawing 30mW peek), but mobile traffic lights that work on 12 Volt batteries actually use lights rated at 10V.
