Yes, but probably we found it in the same way, internet

I personally prefer Arduino, with a 8 pin r-2r array, and an opamp as voltage follower or amplifier, unfortunatelly I'm not good enought to program it.

WTFCircuit i just purchased a arduino a couple of months ago and I am like you just learning to program the device, ill have to try what you suggest. I can see this to be easier. Have you tried using your phone as a scope yet, i see several software for this.

My best question is the top frequency limit of the audio jack on the phone.

I tried a few app, almost all of them works but very very bad compared to a cheap analog oscilloscope, for example if the frequency is to low a square wave become a single spike... The audio jack has a frequency around 50 kHz but it rejected all the frequencies after 20kHz...

Good to know that is valuable information. I guess ill buy one of the new hand held scope i have looked at over using my old cell phone. I wanted something very portable for my tool kit.

After a few calculation I came up that arduino with a 8bit r-2r dac is to slow, a sawtooth would have a maximum period around 2.5ms and a triangular wave around 5ms...

That's too bad, can you change the pwm speed on the arduino, i read some place it could be done have not tried this yet.
