The basic switch idea, upper left is two non-corrosive stainless steel bent in upside down "U" to hang over cup or soup bowl edge. A two conductor flexible wire with end connector plug holds the two stainless steel wires by one leg and other leg is hooked over side of vessel at height to fill. As liquid rises, hot or cold, contact is made through liquid and legs of hook to active turned on suitable sound alarm for blind person or who is doing drinks in the dark. You can determine what you want switched on.

6V DC is too high. Electrolysis would occur. AC with kHz frequency is preferred.

120 volts D.C. ( four 30 volt batteries) powered published circuit. This is for filling coffee cups, soup bowls, glasses of milk, ect. and removed from vessel when alarm tells you to stop pouring. It is not electric heater or left on side of soup dish. Only alarm to stop pouring level is reached and go to next cup. Consider if this will be used in noisy environment by blind person so they will hear when level is reached.
