This one experiments with a different phase shift. A network of 3 RC components produces a total phase shift of 90 degrees, each RC sub-network producing a phase shift of 30 degrees. The attenuation produced by the RC network is amplified by a non-inverting amplifier to restore the original amplitude of the signal.

Each RC stage can produce a phase shift strictly less than 90 degrees and for oscillation you need a total of 180. At the oscillation frequency each stage contributes 60.

So you can use use 3 or more stages (so long as your amplifier has sufficient gain) but not fewer
