Can't find a solution? Why? Every other spice simulation I tried works with this circuit. Any suggestions? It doesn't like the transistor for some reason. If you start the simulation with the switch to the left it won't find a solution but if you start it with the switch to the right and then change it while it is running the simulation works fine.

Turn the source ac setting volts down from 20v dc to zero...it then works. Then tap any part to obtain the oscilloscope. Then alter the oscilloscope timescale to 50mS. Save that and you are ready to go and alter....it doesn't like that 20v in this setup.

Notice then that current of many amps at the transistor base is flowing the wrong way through the transistor...so not surprsing that EC does not like this.

I tried adding a base - emitter shunt resister. Seems to analyze fine.

@avid0g Yes, I have just put a 20k resistor on the base and that seems to solve the high amp overload problem there. Well done.
