[Update April 10:] I preferred to use a standard resistor value so I added a 5.1 ohm one. Everything seems to work properly. [Update March 19:] I found that there are cheap stocked capacitors with 1500uf. So I changed the capacitance in order to smooth the electrons movement when the switch turns off. [Primary description:] Here I made this simple schematic of a backup charger for my mobile phone. According to Sony Ericsson, mobile phones should be charged in 5 volts with 850mA. So the LED has the characteristics of my cell phone! And you may use a regulator in place of the resistor. Enjoy!

Are you assuming your phone is an LED?

If you have 12 volt car charger accessory, connect 9 volt battery to correct plug terminals. Center usually positive and side connection is usually ground. Some ground terminals is only connection on one side so make sure phone is really charging.
