Some type of oscillator

I don't even know what kind of oscillator it is. So weird, you can make anything oscillate

Where did this circuit come from? I must admit I can recognize nothing familiar about this deceptively simple looking device. I took the liberty of rearranging things a bit because you had some of your wires intersecting nodes to which they are not connected, which I find ambiguous and confusing. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6609071762833408

I didn't take the circuit from anywhere. Just whipped it up on a random principle. A feedback here a feedback there and it began oscillating.

What i found weird about this circuit is that the amplitude is self regulated. There's no need for AGC, because the amplitude rises to a certain point and then it stops increasing. I believe this to be partially an effect of the 1k resistor, because we know that as the voltage drop falls, so does the current. Maybe at some minimal level of current it can no longer keep the amplitude increasing and chopps it. But the chop is not so flat, due to the 10nF cap, or something
