This circuit works well, a few suggestions, for equal mark - space, R1 would be about 1/10k R2, a smaller R3 resistor will give about 20mA though the led. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/4723705449283584

Yes I agree with you, but i have selected this resistors because are commercial values and easy to find
