5V Transformerless power supply with zener

It regulates the 120V AC down to 5V DC using a 100Ω resistor and blue LED. without using a bipolar transistor. The 470Ω resistor is a 10 Watt, the 220Ω resistor is a 5 Watt, and the 4.7㎌ capacitor is a 100 Volt NP.

Beautiful circuit .. but what about 4.7u it must be non polarized cap.. or i'm wrong.. it's connected with the AC volt.. it's blown fast

You are right. The 4.7㎌ capacitor is non polarized capacitor(NP). Thankyou. Lol.

There aren't any 4.7uF caps that are non polarised. Use 470nF. Plus I don't recommend using trqnsformerless supplies unless they're switching. Disregarding the fact that it can easily shock you it's not quite efficient plus it can't supply a lot of output current because you use a resistor to limit the input (and the higher the draw the higher is the dissipated power from the components)

this type of circuit is popular among devices with sealed acid batteries, emergency lamps and other with built in rechrgble batt.

@thebugger-really? That sucks. They need to make more NP caps. NP caps are great for AC resistance, and they are cheap to make.
