A simple NPN and PNP transistor inverter

In this circuit we can use a 2N3904 for the NPN circuit and we can Use 2N3906 for the PNP circuit These circuits only uses 4 resistors 2 Transistor and a 230v to 12v center tapped transformer The parts 2 - 1k resistors 2 - 500ohms resistors 2 - 2N3904 or 2N3906 transistor 1 - 230-12v step down transformer Tips For NPN inverter the positive terminal of the battery goes to the terminal of the CT Trans and For the PNP Reversed

Nice design. I have a question. Why 1k and 500 ohm resistors are connected to the bases of the transistors.?

@methamafoz, the base current of transistor should be limited to the collector current divided by the transistors gain.
