A P channel (left) and N channel (right) mosfet with proper load configurations. Changing the logic signal will change which load is being powered. P channel MOSFETs require the load on the source (power) side, and N channel MOSFETs require the load on the drain (ground) side.
In an actual application, you will need to have a resistor connected to ground to remove gate capacitance charge in the MOSFETs. Otherwise you won't see the on/off signal as clean as it is here.
