1.) Calibrate with SW1 Left, and SW2 Open
2.) Adjust variable resister so that Q1 Current = 4mA
MEASURE
1.) Turn SW1 to the Right, and SW2 Closed
2.) Measure Q1 Base Current
3.) BETA is equal to 4mA /Q1 Base Current
Example with BETA = 100
CALIBRATE
1.) Set Switches
2.) Variable Resistor ends up being approx. 3.66%
3.) Measured Q1 Base Current = 40.5uA
BETA of Q1 = 4ma / 40.5uA = 98.77, ~100
