Great idea! Did you use a lot of tweaking to get the right resistor values or used some clever maths?

A true challenge is to build filter that make amplitude constant for wide range of output frequencies whose this gizmo can source without problem !

It is possible to make a very pure sinewave this way by placing a switched capacitor filter at the output and clocking the filter with the 555 clock signal.

Switched cap quite good idea but make u design specialized IC dependent. (Building such from discrete is rather hardly not cool )

Cool circuit but I feel like this could have been clearer. I hate needless color coding.
