Track Circuit - Occupied Track

Top two horizontal lines are railroad tracks. Note small isolation space in rails at both ends of rails and the at right the reversed polarity in adjoining next track circuit. The 10 ohm resistor represents shunt circuit when a train or rail cars are on the tracks. Open and close the SPST switch below the 10 ohm resistor to watch signal switch. Glowing lamp on bottom would be red lamp showing tracks "closed".
