This is a demonstration how to use Zener diodes for AC purposes.
In this configuration, Uf and Ur add up and works in both polarities.
While Varistors are often used for AC purposes, Zener diodes have a much better reaction time and much more precission. Using them antiserial, you can use them for AC.
