This circuit is ment to switch on devices savely. The switching part is not shown, but it should be clear how to use it. When you close the switch, the circuit will wait for the AC voltage to be 0. When it has detected 0V, it will pull down output voltage which should trigger your switch. The signal will stay low as long as the switch is closed.

Its a pity this simulator cant simulate triacs or something simmilar...

You can construct a thyristor from two transistors, and a triac from two thyristors.

Yes it is possible,, just type triac on internet, or EC query, yiu shall how its done,, works very well, just two tranis, like bushmills says.
