I reinvented the Darlington pair. *chuckle* When I wanted to make a 2-stage common collector amp, it just fell into place. Fascinating; forward beta changes (100->500) in the rear (and middle, if 3 are connected) transistors make no difference at all! It doesn't make much difference in the final transistor. When changing the load resistor, the output voltage doesn't change much. It's very similar to a Zenner-transistor regulator. The 3rd transistor only makes a 4% difference in output current range. No input capacitor because I may want to use this with DC inputs.
