This is the Flashing LED Sweetheart DIY Kit from Velleman-Kit I can get it to work by increasing the voltage, but the actual physical kit is powered by a 9V battery. What am I missing?

The kits resistor values are all wrong. The led resistors need to be 42 Ohms and the bias Resistors about 10k.

You need more volts

Hey you need to increase the volts or if you just wanted to use 9v battery..use step boost converter..buy it online

Resistors adjusted as per earlier text, capacitor adjusted to allow better visibility at 1 sec. This is all assuming that the Leds are 2V and 20 mA, check that out and adjust the resistors to suit. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5106671125004288

Thanks for all the input guys. But this is not how it works in real life. I must be missing something with the LED values, as voltage, resisters, and capacitors are dead on. Here is the schematic and parts list. http://www.vellemanusa.com/downloads/0/minikits/manuals/manual_mk101.pdf

Circuit in simulator works at 56 volts DC. Many published circuits are wrong and simulator software quickly shows problems.

But it is working in real life, with confirmed schematic parts. It must be the LEDs.
