Das Amperemeter zeigt auf den Vergleichswiderstand, das Poti ist der gesuchte Widerstand und die zwei anderen sind die Brückenwiderstände.
Der 100 M Ohm Widerstand stellt das Voltmeter da, wenns gleiche Spannungen anzeigt  ist die entscheidene Spannungsdifferenz 0V.
Hierbei sieht man gut, dass nur das Verhältnis der unbelasteten Spannungsteiler zählt , 1k zu 2k = 0,5k zu 1k.
