I use this circuit for my back yard lights, because my children can't remember too turn them off. I power the circuit with a voltage divider through a diode. You will need a ground in the light switch box for the circuit. Relay can be any on hand (set voltage divider to relay voltage) Mosfet IRFZ44N Capacitor 2200 mf Diode 1N4007 Momentary switch

Hi. I'm trying to understand how your circuit is powered. You said "voltage divider through a diode." Does this mean you connect the black wire (hot) through a 120:1 voltage divider to ground? Does the diode provide the DC offset? Thanks!

The diode provided half wave Dc for the circuit, I'm sure you noticed the input filter cap. I hope 🤞 this answer your question. Thanks for asking.

Yes, that does help. I think I get it now..

I guess a better answer is, power to diode half wave to divider which slowly charges the input filter cap, the filter cap dumps to the relay cap and delay starts. The bigger the cap and smaller the relay coil the longer the delay.
